Wonder if you happened to mention the time line question? One section in the "Guest Worker" chapter says it can not be implemented 90s before the study, would that only cover the "Guest Worker" section or the whole bill? The house will try their best to push an enforcement first approach, if they gain more on that, then we might end up with a bill passed but never take effect. That would be the worst situation.
Today I spoke to a Representative who deals with immigration issue at Sen Mike Dewine's (R-OH) office. I spoke to him for 15 minutes to understand what he and his senator think about this CIR.
Here is he and his senator feels about this bill. It is difficult for him to say that when CIR bill will be introduced in senate floor . It depend on Majority and Minority leaders to decide. Majority leader told to the media that he will introduce before the end of the may, he is mostly consistent, but there are several bills where he has committed a timeline and till today it is not on the floor.
However he told that once CIR pass, legal immigration is already taken care of, but if it does not passes there are bills like SKIL which will be put before the floor. But CIR has to fail or pass before you see this SKILL bill on the floor.

Even if AILA loses the lawsuit, it will bring this entire incident to the limelight. The best thing we can expect out of it is media attention which unfortunately is not available to our cause at this time.

Why don't posters on this forum move back to their home country and concentrate on making their home country great instead of slamming into someone else's country and just living off the wealth others have created?
The bottom line is that a SKIL act is not needed. Hundreds of thousands of American programmers have lost their job to the third world, both in outsourcing and insourcing of third world programmers who work for cheaper wages. There is absolutely no need for more foreigners here and no need for more green cards. Temporary workers are just that - temporary. If you are on a temporary visa, work your time, make some money for your family and head home when your time is up. Don't cry that we don't provide enough green cards when you knew what kind of visa you were on.
Why don't you move back to Britain or whichever country you or your ancestors came from? Also, a lot of wealth in the US has been created by these people who "slam into someone else's country." So your argument has little validity. Maybe I should not be wasting my time in responding to xenophobes.

Even if the republicans loose heavily but retain control of congress, they will be mortally wounded and so things will be hard to predict. The stock market has betted that control of both houses will remain with GOP.
That's why I said before;some people are pretty sure that if democrats win, we will be alright. In my view it may turn out to be the opposite. Democrats favor illegal immigration. I think they are less inclined to pass our SKULL bill alone. I strongly believe that that democrats would rather attach our bill to the CIR/illegal alien amnesty bill, which still will be controversial to pass. Even if Sen. Specter and his team manage to flood America with illegal aliens, then we may take a hit from the collateral effects caused by millions of applications at USCIS.

It high time that these guys get kicked on what ever, I have seen so many of my friends frustated due to non payment and get scarred to do anything against it..... I appreciate your courage , If they do bussiness and employ people they should legally pay, So many poeple come from India with kids and family and suffer so much when they are not getting paid on bench...I can only sympathise with their situation , Shame on such bussiness...BLOOD SUCKERS, MANIACS . I would say USCIS should create a law to punish these blood sucking monsters.

1. "W2 Self-employed" is an oxymoron. Self-employed option is possible through 1099. Nowhere on the Yates memo (or any other USCIS resource) does it say that you have to be on a "permanent" job. You sure can be self-employed (i.e., not on a W2) with AC21 provision, as the Yates memo clearly says.
[Now, you can be self-employed with unlimited liability. If you want to reduce your liability, you can open an LLC, which gives you the freedom of filing your income taxes either as a "Sole Proprietor," a "C-Corp," or an "S-Corp." No onde denies that we cannot vote. But we have the basic rights, like being treated "equally and fairly". For example, if some employer violates labor law and did not pay you for your work, I am sure you can sue, even though you are not a citizen. There are some basic rights that everyone has, esp. if you hold good fainth and are damaged. Statement that you do not have any rights as you are not a citizen is just wrong. I am wondering how this will impact people's (esp. people from other countries) perception about this. :confused:

Two weeks back, your priority was to file a law suite against porting from EB3 to EB2.
Now after seeing your own buddies get approval before you, you put the previous plan on hold (sure you have not dropped it) and working on the new item.
All we can do is to send letters to USCIS to expedite the process and give SunnySurya green card at the earliest.
So not only EB3 but EB2 also escape from new issues.
I am with you.

Its not about stereotyping...its about being fair....how can people who have come here illegally be allowed a path to naturalization while we have been waiting in line for so long? I came here because I had a certain idea about the makeup and composition and ideology of this country (liberty, equality, etc.) Making such a move will invariably change the demographic of the nation. Now that would be an intentional act. Not the natural pace at which migration/assimilation and diversification occurs. I have nothing against that.
Would somebody call you racist if you say that you dont want to move to a ghetto because the standard of living is not good? NO. The fact that you dont want to move to a ghetto does not mean that you are prejudiced about the people who live there.
The statement about corruption and inefficiencies is not slander but just a simple observation. If you dont agree with that, then most likely you would prefere to live in/immigrate to some Latin country instead of being here/coming to USA.
I wont open the argument about the burden the illegal people will put on welfare etc. considering that they are typically from a income bracket that does not contribute much to taxes.
It is very easy for people to use a cliched terms like racist/bigots etc when arguing for amnesty but if racism was the core argument against amnesty, one would not see the kind of backlash that one is seeing from the masses after CIR was introduced.
All Americans think it is unfair to reward behaviour that is against the law. Not to mention the fact that they will have to take the burden of welfare of the legalized illegal people while they themselves dont know if there will be any welfare/social security benefits available when they are ready to retire.

I took a printout of the receiver's signature image and the tracking information from the Fedex website just in case.
My attorney also mentioned that he submitted my case to the NSC liaison (I think he is referring to the AILA liaison of the NSC center) for follow up to see if they can help confirm the status of my application.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.
