I would request IV core team to concentrate on new bill or some way for relief to skilledworkers like us. I dont think waiting until end of July is good option here. It is certain that CIR is not going to be there for this year..whole US world is thinking of same.

They almost always take some kind of FPs. What I mean is that there are 3 biometrics codes. Code 3 is the most comprehensive, where they take your photo, signature and all ten fingers FP. Check your notice in the upper right corner, there should be a box that says "Code".
I got biometrics notice today. Will they take FP also on the same day or Will I get another notice for FP?

Try to call the service center directly, e.g. call at a time when the service center is open. The 1-800 number will transfer you automatically and you should hear something like "welcome to NSC/TSC, etc...". If the service center is closed and they transfer you to the national customer service something you can hang up because they're useless. All they know is to open SRs which get routed to the thrash bin.
I did exactly as in the post above, except for the part where I tell them I'm "depressed" (they probably figured I was anyway :)) and I got my FP notice three days later. I got a soft LUD right after the call, which is a good indication that the IO actually did something. If you don't get an LUD call again the next day, and the next day,..... eventually you'll run into someone who can help.

The goal of this action item is to get as many impacted EB folks to write to/talk to their lawmakers. i assume that is why this action item was announced on the public forum.
For every anti-immigrant who might view this message, we hope that there will be 20-50 EB folks who speak up and act on the action item. We cannot be scared of opposition and limit every action item to members only...that way we will never get a mass response that is required for such an initiative.
We have 29 guests viewing this thread as I type! Can we make this forum members only? IMHO they are not adding any value and may contain prying anti's in their mix....

Equal opportunity Emp will call for either do not sponsor ANY VISA catagory for people present in US or NO VISA at all... BUT this guys is OK with VISA for Canadian but No Mexican.... forget about H1-B etc... OPT

As much as all of us on this board would like to get our GCs, remember that GC is just a means to an end, it is not the end itself. Dont make the GC so important that not getting it starts "depressing" you.
if you see life as a series of choices and actions, then the lack of GC inhibits a lot of choices and actions.
how badly you wish to change career for example, varies among individuals. but one should not forget that life is finite number of years, and the system here wants to eat all your productive years by dangling the GC carrot.
as sufferers of this ordeal, i believe it is our duty to inform the young and innocent who are not yet in this mess, about the future that awaits them.
mind you i am not discouraging anyone from coming to the US.. that is a decision that must be made by the individual.... just making sure the rules and realities of the game are known to people before they come here.
